Our team comprises of a diverse range of staff, from registered nurses, home maintenance and modification staff through to support care workers and volunteers for transport and delivered meals who are here to support you in your home or to help you get out and about in the community. All our staff wear City of Kingston identification and have current Police checks.
Whatever your personal care needs, our registered nursing team are there to assess and support you with daily living tasks. They will come to your home, step through your personal care needs in relation to your home set up, and implement a plan to ensure your safety at all times. The nurses also train all personal care support staff and are available to review and attend personal care shifts in your home to ensure support staff have the highest quality training available.
All our support workers have a Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community) as well as first aid training, CPR and regular ongoing training and support. They will stay in contact with you to respond to any changes in your needs. Our workers have a high level of training in comparison to private agencies and receive more support and regular face to face contact with supervising staff and nursing staff. We have instilled a culture that supports quality training and support, to provide you with the very best care at all times.
Home maintenance workers
Our home maintenance team come from a range of backgrounds and are skilled and experienced in completing a range of home maintenance tasks. On the job our team receive tailored training on specific maintenance tasks and also have formal training in specific areas such as using chainsaws, WHS, asbestos awareness, First Aid and CPR, basic household construction and test and tag.
Our bus drivers are all qualifiied bus drivers holding the appropriate license for our vehicle fleet and receive training in defensive driving, First Aid and CPR. Our service is registered and undergoes comprehensive audits to maintain registration status. We carefully check all venues we plan to attend to ensure they are suitable for our passengers, including easy to access, good value for money and variety of meals. Each and every social outing is carefully planned to confirm the route to take, ensure time on the bus is minimised and that passengers are safe at all times and not exposed to unnecessary risks (such as extreme heat and/or bush fire risk).
Our meals team all hold food safety certificates which are updated each year. Our meals kitchens undergo yearly external audits to retain their Registered Food Premises certification. Our team also complete ad-hoc training such as dementia awareness to build their knowledge to ensure we are continuing to offer a great friendly service to clients and their families.
The delivered meals and volunteer transport services are provided by our team of dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time to make a difference to the lives of people in our community.
