Here at AccessCare, we are specialists in providing home care that meet the unique and sometimes complex needs of our clients. We empower older people and people with disabilities to live independently, and to remain in control of their lifestyle.
We are committed to ensuring our clients feel in charge of their own care planning. Our goal, after all, is to ensure you have everything you need to live at home independently for as long as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we offer a range of services for our clients to choose from to meet their changing needs.
Domestic assistance
It is only natural that as we age, we need a little extra support to maintain a clean home. If you find household tasks are becoming increasingly more difficult for you to manage, then you may benefit from some cleaning support.
Our services include:
- General housework, such as vacuuming, dusting and cleaning, mopping the floors and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom
- Laundry and ironing
- Changing bed linen
- Putting out the bins and bringing them back in
Our support workers can also help you prepare some nutritious home cooked meals.
Personal care
When your health, mobility or other circumstances change, you may need a little support with some of those personal care tasks, such as showering or dressing.
Additionally, if you are recovering from surgery or have recently been in hospital, personal care is available for you to get back on your feet. We can also provide ongoing personal care to fit in with your daily or weekly routines and help you maintain your independence at home.
Home modifications
At AccessCare, our priority is to make sure your home is safe and secure so you can continue to maintain your independence. We provide assistance and support with some home modification tasks in relation to your health, safety and security.
Our services with an occupational therapy referral include:
- Installation of ramps – permanent or temporary
- Installation of rails – internal and external
- Bathroom installations – hand-held showers, sliding shower rails, weighted shower curtains and removal of shower screens
- Step modifications – internal and external
Home maintenance
AccessCare can arrange minor home maintenance services relating to your health, safety and security. We can also help with a range of one-off tasks, such as fitting and maintaining smoke alarms, changing light globes, repairing fences and gates or pruning trees that obstruct paths, doors or windows.
Meal delivery
Delivered meals are available to people living in the City of Kingston who have difficulty accessing nutritious meals regularly at home. We can deliver hot or cold meals straight to your door, and can also provide texture modified meals.
Shopping assistance
Whether it's your weekly supermarket shop, filling a prescription at the chemist or visiting the post office, AccessCare can help. Our support workers can take you to your local shops, or take care of your shopping needs for you while you remain at home.
