AccessCare is a not-for-profit provider of home care and support managed by Kingston City Council. We support people who are older, homeless, have disabilities and/or are carers.
We have developed a strong reputation over the past 20 years for supporting people, including those with complex needs. Our team of tertiary qualified Aged Care Advisers listen to what's important to you, supporting and empowering you to stay active and enjoy life.
Home care and support
A little support at home can go a long way to help you maintain your independence. If you’re over 65, you may be eligible for support.
We offer entry level home care support such as housework and laundry services, help with meals and shopping right through to providing a comprehensive home care service if your needs increase with a Home Care Package. We can also assist when you are ready to transition to a Home Care Package and provide continuity and familiarity with services as you are able to continue using the same council support workers.
Care in the community
AccessCare is a not-for-profit home care provider back by local Council with a passion for supporting people. Our deep connection to the community allows us to link you with quality services and support to remain in your own home, surrounded by your pets, garden and community. We work differently from many community care agencies as we help you plan a personalised program and source the services you need from a network of trusted providers. We believe this gives you access to the best service.
As an organisation who has been providing care in the community for well over 20 years we have an incredible amount of industry knowledge and experience. When you're making decisions about the kinds of services that will help you stay safe and happy in your own home, it's advisable to work with people who know the industry inside and out. Other providers who have recently entered the care industry following the introduction of 'consumer-directed care' may have limited experience when it comes to home-based care.
Support for the homeless
The Community Connection Program supports people living in the Kingston and Bayside council areas who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national insurance program that is providing support to people under 65 who live with a permanent and significant disability. It is a new way of delivering services and supports for people living with disabilities in Australia.
Given there are specialist disability services operating in the community, Kingston City Council has decided not to become an NDIS provider. We will, however, be helping people currently receiving services through Council to transition to the NDIS and have appointed two transitions officers to support you.
